"THE RIFT" WINS AUDIENCE AWARD AT 2nd ANNUAL INDEPENDENT GAMES FESTIVAL

SAN JOSE, CA, March 15, 2000 - "The Rift" from ThrushWave Technology has taken home the Audience Award in the Independent Games Festival at this year's Game Developer Conference in San Jose. The award was chosen by popular vote last Friday by the attendees of the conference, and carries a $1000 prize.

The small, four-man team developing "The Rift" was very pleased with the recognition associated with the award. Producer and developer James Thrush accepted the award, thanking members of the industry for their support, especially the hardware vendors who have provided free development samples to the under-funded team. Mr. Thrush added humorously, "We can sell that hardware on E-Bay for beer money." The team is planning on shipping "The Rift" world-wide later this year.

ThrushWave Technology is a small software development company founded in 1996 to create compelling 3D environments and games. "The Rift" is ThrushWave's first independent venture. More information on ThrushWave Technology and screen shots of "The Rift" can be found at http://www.theriftgame.com.
